Paper and Resin

I spent the morning experimenting with Ice Resin and paper. I have a small collection of antique books and they have been doing pretty much nothing but collecting dust for the past 20 years. I happen to have a music book that dates back to 1909. To make it seem a bit older than it actually is I took distress inks to emhance the color and give a darker sepia tone. The resin was simply sponged on front and back and left to cure. It leaves the paper wonderfully preserved and quite flexible ready to be used in all kinds of jewelry projects.

Shown here is my first pair of earrings made with the resin paper. It incorperates a handmade metal bezel, with sparkly AB Swarovsky clear crystals, and tiny grey crystals for an extra pop. They are hung with my hand made ear wires.

I think these are music to my ears!
